“The Siyavula platform is perfectly suited for online teaching using the problem posing strategy. You can refer your learners to the free Physical Science eBooks on the platform and tell them which chapters to read. You then instruct them to practice the questions they will find under the corresponding section on the platform. The system offers so many questions that learners will never get the same question twice. Learners can also do exam prep by answering past exam papers and random exam questions.
The system marks the answer automatically which simplifies everything for teachers. It also encourages learners to keep practicing until they reach a high level of mastery. As teacher you can easily track all their practice by checking leaderboard scores and levels of mastery. The platform collects the data automatically for you to identify and analyse your learners’ competency.
You can set an assignment choosing the level of difficulty and duration and telling the learners how many questions you want them to do on which concepts. The chances for learners to copy from each other are minimal because they will all receive different questions. The platform marks the assignment and present you with the results!
And while you wait for your learners’ results to come in you can use the professional development section on the Siyavula platform to improve your own mastery and earn SACE points.”
